I can’t believe I’m actually posting a recipe for hot chocolate but this is hands down the best hot cocoa I’ve ever had and I have made it just for Christmas morning two years in a row now.
5 X 1 oz Squares of unsweetened chocolate
1 1/2 cup sugar
2/3 cup water
4 cups of whipped heavy cream
Place the water, chocolate and sugar into a saucepan and bring to a boil. Boil for 2 minutes, long enough to let the sugar all dissolve. Let cool. When it’s no longer hot, but not completely cold, fold into the whipped cream. This should give you a super chocolate-y whipped cream mixture.
To serve: Fill a mug 2/3 full with milk. Throw it into your microwave for 1-1.5 minutes. Take a heaping spoonful (about 3 tablespoons) of the chocolate cream mixture and place in hot milk. Stir and let chocolate melt into mug.
