I always serve this along with Granny’s baked beans. They are a package deal for side dishes.
You will need the following:
2-3 cups pasta shells
3 tbsp butter (you can use margarine but I prefer butter)
3 tbsp flour
2 cups milk
1 tsp salt
2 cups mozzarella cheese
Italian bread crumbs (optional)
You are going to start off by boiling your pasta. After the pasta is nice and tender and you have drained it rinse with cold water – then you can place it in a casserole dish. Using the same pan, melt the butter. Pour in the milk and flour. You will need to stir it with a wisk to make sure the flour is dissolved. Stir until it thickens (still with the wisk)…. you can do this on medium heat. You will need to CONSTATLY stir it…. other wise it sticks to the bottom….. and you definitely do not want that. After it thickens, dump in cheese and salt. Pour in with pasta and top with breadcrumbs. Serve with baked beans and steak for maximum deliciousness.
